Five members of the Nebraska Wesleyan University men’s soccer team were named to the 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer All-Conference that was announced Tuesday (Nov. 16). Midfielder Brad Fullerton was named to the All-GPAC Second-Team, while Sean Norris, AJ Johnson, Grant Johannes and Colby Twist received All-GPAC honorable mention recognition.
Fullerton (Lincoln, Neb.) earns All-GPAC Second-Team honors for the third straight season. He tied for the team lead with six goals this year and added one assist. The Lincoln East H.S., graduate now has 20 career goals to tie for ninth on the NWU all-time goal charts. He has earned All-GPAC Second-Team honors in each of his first three seasons.
Norris (Lincoln, Neb.) finished his senior season by earning his first All-Conference honor. The Lincoln Southeast H.S., graduate started all 17 games as a team captain and defender for the Prairie Wolves. Norris finishes his career with six goals in 68 games.
Johnson (Lincoln, Neb.) is All-GPAC honorable mention in his first season with the Prairie Wolves. The Lincoln Pius X H.S., graduate started all 17 games in the midfield for NWU.
Johannes (Manhattan, Kan.) was third on the team with four goals and ended the year second on the team with 13 points. He started all 17 games at forward for the Prairie Wolves.
Twist (Elkhorn, Neb.) led the team with 15 points in his first season to earn All-GPAC honorable mention. Twist had six goals and three assists for the Prairie Wolves as a forward for NWU. The Elkhorn H.S., graduate had three game-winning goals this season.
Yannic Thiel from Hastings was the GPAC Offensive Player of the Year, while Derek Prinz from Hastings was Defensive player of the year. Chris Kranjc from Hastings was the GPAC Coach-of-the-Year.
NWU finished the 2010 season with a 6-10-1 record and a 5-5-1 record in the GPAC
