Nebraska Wesleyan looked poised for an upset and to get their first victory of the season, but a goal in the final five minutes allowed 7th-ranked Macalester College to rally back to get the 2-1 victory in men's soccer action on Friday (Sept. 10) in St. Paul, Minn.
Macalester remains undefeated at 4-0, while NWU remains winless at 0-3.
The Prairie Wolves got on the board first as Grant Johannes scored his first goal of the season during the 17th minute. Johannes scored off a deflected ball from a clearance from the goalkeeper.
Macalester finally scored during the 61st minute as they converted a penalty kick. The game-winner came at the 85:07 as Chris Kartheiser found the right part of the net to give the Scots the victory.
NWU will go for their first win of the year Saturday as they take on Gustavus Adolphus College.
