Prairie Wolves Tied for 17th at NCAA Golf Championships

The Nebraska Wesleyan University men's golf team had their best round on the final day as the Prairie Wolves shot a 297 to finish in a tie for 17th at the NCAA III Men's Golf Championships at the Hershey Links Golf Course in Hershey, Penn.

NWU finished with a four-day total of 1221 (312-312-300-297) to place in a tie for 17th with Central College.

Methodist University won the NCAA III Men's Golf Title with team score of 1177.

Senior Nate Jaeger finished his standout four-year career by leading the NWU golfers. Jaeger tied for 35th place with total of 301 (+14). He closed out the tournament with his best score of 73 on Friday.

Junior Patrick Hanzel also had his best round of the tournament on the final day closing out with a 74. His four-day total of 306 (+19) put him in a tie for 55th place.

Just one stroke back of Hanzel was two other NWU golfers. Geoff Oliphant and E.J. Hamilton both had a four-day total of 307. Oliphant also shot a 74 on Friday, while Hamilton closed with a 76. They both tied for 64th place.

The final NWU golfer was Ryan Boyer, who placed 83rd with a score of 312.
