Nebraska Wesleyan University freshman men's golfer Drew Taylor completed his successful first season with a top 20 finish at the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships. Taylor finished in a tie for 17th overall.
The 2012 DIII Championships were played at Mission Hills Resort at Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
Taylor (Omaha, Neb.) shot a round of 77 (+5) on the final round of competition on Friday to end in a five-way tie for 17th. Taylor's four round total was 298 (+10) as he shot scores of 72-70-79-77.
He was tied for second overall after the first two rounds to make it to Thursday as an individual with the NWU team missing the cut. Taylor was tied for 12th after round three then finished in the tie for 17th to earn All-America honors.
Anthony Maccaglia from Oglethorpe was the individual champion at -6 and helped lead Oglethorpe to the team championship.
