Nebraska Wesleyan University freshman men’s golfer Drew Taylor has been named to the 2012 PING Central Region All-Region team as selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Taylor (Omaha, Neb.) has a season stroke average of 76.05 during the 2011-12 season which led the Prairie Wolves. Taylor was third at the 2011-12 GPAC Men’s Golf Championship to earn All-GPAC honors.
The Millard North H.S., graduate had three top five finishes this season and seven top 10 finishes in his first collegiate season.
Taylor fired a (even par) 72 on the first day of the 2012 NCAA III Championships on Tuesday (May 15) at Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, to sit in a tie for 9th overall. As a team the Prairie Wolves shot a team score of 305 to sit alone in 15th. Only the top 15 teams and top five individuals not on a top 15 team will make the cut for the final two rounds of the NCAA III Championships. Nebraska Wesleyan teed of at 7:50 am on Wednesday.
