NWU Golfers in 15th After Day 1 at Championships

Nebraska Wesleyan shot a team score of 305 on day one of the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships on Tuesday (May 15) at Mission Hills Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The Prairie Wolves competed on the Las Colinas course on Tuesday.

NWU sits alone in 15th place after the first day's competition. Only the top 15 teams after day two's competition will advance to make the cut and play in the final two day's of the championships.

Freshman Drew Taylor led the Prairie Wolves by shooting an even par (72) and is currently in the top 10 by sitting in a tie for ninth individually. Rory Doll fought back after taking a 10 on one hole to shoot a 77 and sit in a tie for 67th. The other two NWU golfers used in scoring were one stroke back with scores of 78 as Beau Brown and Logan Palmer both had 6-over rounds. The fifth NWU golfer, Ryan Boyer, shot a score of 83.

The Prairie Wolves will be in the early tee time on Wednesday as they will tee off at 7:50 am on the El Campeon course at Mission Hills Resort.
