Doll Ties School Record as NWU Extends GPAC Lead to 11 Strokes

Rory Doll tied a Nebraska Wesleyan school record with a round of 66 as he helped the Prairie Wolves to a team score of 292 at GPAC Qualifier #3 on Monday (Apr. 23) at Fremont Country Club in Fremont, Neb.

NWU now extends their lead in the 2011-12 GPAC Men's Golf Championships to 11 strokes over second place Northwestern College. The final GPAC Qualifier will be be played May 7 in Mitchell, S.D.

Doll now stands at sixth place overall after his round of 66 on Monday. He shot 34-32 at Fremont C.C. for a score of -5 under par.

Teammate Logan Palmer shot a 74, tied for the seventh best score of the day with Drew Taylor coming in at 75 and Ryan Boyer at 77.

After three played GPAC Qualifiers, Nebraska Wesleyan has three players in the individual top 10. Freshman Drew Taylor is tied for second overall with Brandon Thompson from Morningside College with a total of 222 (+7). Taylor is just one shot back from the leader Ryan Kiewet from Northwestern (+6).

Another freshman, Logan Palmer, is fifth overall as he is sitting at +10 with a total of 225. After his round on Monday, Doll moved up to sixth place overall at +!1, just five strokes out of the lead.

A fourth NWU golfer, Beau Brown, is alone in 12th place with a total of 232 (+17), only two shots out of the top 10.
