The Nebraska Wesleyan men’s golf team fell back six spots into 21st place and had its worst day of the tournament as the Prairie Wolves battled rainy conditions on Thursday (May 15) in the NCAA Division III Championships at Chateau Elan Resort and the Chateau Course in Braselton, Ga.
NWU shot a day 3 team score of 323 in the poor conditions. The score of 323 was the second highest team score of the day. NWU now has a total score of 948.
St. John Fisher College remains in first place at 893 (+41).
Senior Tyler Lawson (McCook, Neb.) continues to lead the NWU golfers. Lawson shot an 81 and has total of 232 to tie for 46th.
Freshman Patrick Hanzel is now tied for second among NWU golfers after shooting a 78. Hanzel has a total of 233 (+20) and is tied for 56th and one back of Lawson.
Sophomore Nate Jaeger (Lexington, Neb.) shot an 80 on Thursday and is now tied with Hanzel with a total of 233.
Sophomore Phil Hranac (Kearney, Neb.) and freshman Geoff Oliphant (Billings, Mont.) round out the NWU scoring. Hranac shot an 84 for a total of 251, while Oliphant had an 87 for a total of 253.
