Nebraska Wesleyan junior golfer E. J. Hamilton was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Co-Men's Golfer-of-the-Week. He joins Nick Gates from Dakota Wesleyan University in receiving the honor.
Hamilton (Omaha, Neb.) shot an 18-hole round of 70 last Saturday (Sept. 6) at Wild Oak Golf Club in Mitchell, S.D., in the first GPAC qualifying event. Hamilton and Gates now sit in first place after one round of the GPAC Championships.
This season the GPAC Championships will be decided by four one-day 18-hole events at four different locations. Two events will be played in the fall and two more in the spring. The second GPAC Qualifier will be played Sept. 18 at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln.
Hamilton helped Nebraska Wesleyan to a second place finish in the first qualifying event. NWU trails Dakota Wesleyan by 12 strokes.
Nebraska Wesleyan will host the two day NWU Fall Invitational on Sept. 11-12 in Lincoln, Neb. Day one of the competition will be held at Holmes Golf Course with the first tee time set for 11:00 am. Day 2 will take place at Woodland Hills Golf Course beginning at 8:00 am.
