Prairie Wolves Finish Tied for 10th at NCAA Championships

The Nebraska Wesleyan men’s golf team saved their best round for the final day as the Prairie Wolves shot a team score of 298 to finish in a tie for 10th place at the NCAA Division III Championships at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

NWU finished with a four-day total of 1210 (300-305-307-298) to finish in a tie for 10th with Skidmore College.

Oglethorpe University won the team title with a score of 1164.

Sophomore Patrick Hanzel led NWU by tying for 15th place with a total of 296. Hanzel ended the tournament with an even par 72 on Saturday.

Junior Nate Jaeger was just one shot behind Hanzel with a four-day total of 297. The Lexington, Neb., native rebounded from a 78 on day three to shoot a 75 in the final round. He opened the tournament with a pair of 72's.

Geoff Oliphant was the third highest placer for Nebraska Wesleyan with a total of 309. He had his best round of the tournament on the final day with a score of 73.


Junior E.J. Hamilton had a score of 312 for NWU's fourth scorer. He shot a 78 on Saturday after firing a 76 on Friday.

Rounding out the NWU lineup was sophomore Kyle Jaacks who finished with a 316. After opening the tournament with a 75, Jaacks shot two rounds of 80 and closed the tournament with an 81.
