Golfers Remain in Lead After GPAC Qualifier #2

Nebraska Wesleyan extended its overall lead to five strokes at the GPAC Men's Golf Championships after the second qualifier was played on Thursday (Oct. 6) at Lochland Country Club in Hastings, Neb.

NWU shot a team score of 313 in the windy conditions on Thursday at Lochland which was the second best team score of the day. Doane fired a team score of 307 to move up to second.

Overall, the Prairie Wolves now have a cumulative score of 609 to lead Doane by five strokes (614). Northwestern is third with a 616.

Individually, NWU freshman Drew Taylor shot a 75 on Thursday and is now the overall leader with a score of 147 (72-75). He leads Bo Cribelli from Doane College by two strokes for individual medalist honors.

Two other NWU players are currently in the overall top 10. Freshman Logan Palmer is tied for fifth with a 151 (71-80) while Beau Brown is sitting in a tie for eighth at 153 (76-77).

The final two GPAC Men's Golf Qualifiers will be played during the spring with No. 3 hosted by Midland in Fremont and the final round played in Mitchell, S.D., hosted by Dakota Wesleyan.
