Men's Golf Climbs Up to #16 in DIII Coaches' Poll

The Nebraska Wesleyan University men’s golf team moved up six spots to No. 16 in the latest NCAA Division III Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches Poll that was released Oct. 3. The poll combines the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

The Prairie Wolves received 146 points in the poll to move up from their previous ranking of No. 22. Oglethorpe got 15 first place votes and is ranked No. 1 this week.

So far this season Nebraska Wesleyan has competed in three tournaments. They won the St. John’s Fall Invitational on Sept. 15-16, were second at the first GPAC Qualifier and most recently tied for second at the three-day Twin Cities Classic played Sept. 29-Oct. 1. The Prairie Wolves are ranked in the top 10 of the current GolfStat Division III rankings.

Next week NWU will compete at the second GPAC Qualifier at Green Valley Golf Course in Sioux City, Iowa on Oct. 10. They close out their 2012 fall season at the NAIA Midwest Fall Classic on Oct. 15-16 in Silvis, Illinois at TPC Deere Run.
