Nebraska Wesleyan was represented well at the 2011 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday (Nov. 18) at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis. The NWU women were 18th in the team standings while the men finished 21st as a team.

Washington University (Mo.) won the women's team title, with North Central (Ill.) winning the men's race.

For the Prairie Wolves women it was senior Hannah Kinberg who led the way in the 6K race. Like every race this season, Kinberg was the top placer for the NWU women as she placed 36th overall in a time of 21:46.90. The next highest finisher for NWU was senior Malaina Huebert who was also in the top 100 at 97th. Huebert had a time of 22:17.41.

Also scoring for the Prairie Wolves was Hayley Sutter (142nd), Ali Tewes (155th) and Katie Nelson (190th).

In the men's race, the Prairie Wolves were 21st out of 32 teams competing in the field.

Senior Ben Paben was the top runner for the NWU men and was the lone runner to finish in the top 100. Paben was 77th in the 8K race in a time of 25:08.07. Jordan Rector crossed the line next for NWU in 113th place with a time of 25:23.39. Other runners for NWU were Mike Rathje (144th), Parker Schoen (158th) and Cole Marolf (160th).
