Kinberg & Rathje are GPAC Runners of the Week

Nebraska Wesleyan University swept this week’s Great Plains Athletic Conference cross country honors as seniors Hannah Kinberg and Michael Rathje were named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week for the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2.

Hannah KinbergKinberg (Lincoln, Neb.) placed 14th overall at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University last Friday (Sept. 30) in Bethlehem, Penn. Kinberg was 14th out of a total of 386 runners in the women’s college division brown race. She helped the Prairie Wolves place 10th out of 44 teams in the race. The Lincoln East H.S., graduate ran a time of 22:26 in the 6K race.

Rathje (Lincoln, Neb.) was the top NWU male runner to earn GPAC Men’s Runner of the Week honors. Rathje was 23rd out of 382 total runners finishing the 8K course in a time of Mike Rathje26:12. He helped the Prairie Wolves place third out of 46 teams in the men’s college division brown race.

This week the Nebraska Wesleyan men’s cross country team moved up to No. 21 in the NCAA III cross country rankings, while the women are ranked No. 27.
