Jackson Named AD3I Player of the Week

Nebraska Wesleyan sophomore guard Eric Jackson has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) men’s basketball player of the week for games played Jan. 16-22.Eric Jackson

Jackson (Lincoln, Neb.) scored a career-high 29 points and went 7-8 from 3-point range as the Prairie Wolves upset NAIA II #5 Dordt College, 95-84, on Jan. 21 at Snyder Arena. Jackson’s 29 points were the most for a NWU player since 2006 and it is the first time since 2001 that a NWU player made seven 3-pointers in a conference game.

For the week, Jackson averaged 17 points 4.0 rebounds and went 8-12 (66.7%) from 3-point range.

The Lincoln Southeast H.S., graduate leads the Prairie Wolves in scoring on the season averaging 11.8 points per game. He also leads the team with 48 made 3-pointers on the year.

NWU will be on the road for two key Great Plains Athletic Conference games this week as they play at Midland University on Wednesday (Jan. 25) and at Mount Marty College on Saturday (Jan. 28) in Yankton, S.D.
