NWU Men’s Basketball Adds Eight New Players

July 14, 2009

Nebraska Wesleyan University head men’s basketball coach Cam Schuknecht has released the names of eight recruits who plan to compete in basketball at NWU in 2009-10.

The recruiting class includes six players from Nebraska, one from Iowa and one from overseas.  Highlighting the class are three players that earned Nebraska All-State honors.  Brett Potter was a key member of the Class A State Championship team at Creighton Prep and earned honorable mention All-State, while Ryan Longacre from Millard West was also a Class A honorable mention All-State performer.  Spencer Fahey from Grand Island Central Catholic was named to the Class C1 Second-Team All-State team.

The NWU men finished the 2008-09 season with a 10-15 record in Coach Schuknecht’s third season.  The Prairie Wolves lost just one senior off the 2008-09 squad and are expected to return four starters from the team.  Nebraska Wesleyan will open the 2009-10 season on Nov. 20-21 when they travel to Jacksonville, Illinois for the Bill Merris Tournament.
