Prairie Wolves Remain Perfect with 71-32 Win

The Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball team remained perfect for the 2008-09 season as the Prairie Wolves easily handled the University of Dallas, 71-32, in the final game of the 20th Annual Snyder Classic on Saturday night (Nov. 29) at Snyder Arena in Lincoln, Neb.

The Prairie Wolves improve to 5-0 on the season as they won both games of the 2008 Snyder Classic.

NWU held the Dallas offense in check as the Crusaders had only 11 points at halftime shooting 4-24 from the field as the Prairie Wolves led 25-11 at half.

The Nebraska Wesleyan offense got on fire in the second half as they shot 60 percent from the floor and scored 46 points to cruise to the victory.

Junior center Dylan Aylward, who was named the Snyder Classic MVP, was the only Prairie Wolf to reach double figures on Saturday as he scored 18 points. Ryan Thramer added nine points, while Preston Englund came off the bench to score six points and grab a team-high eight rebounds.

Thramer and senior Brandon Arp also were named to the All-Classic Team.

Dallas finished the game shooting 20.9 percent from the field and committed 25 turnovers. Jim Norton and Peter Popovich each scored 11 points.

Nebraska Wesleyan will return to GPAC action on Tuesday (Dec. 2) when they travel to Blair, Neb., to take on Dana College.
