Nebraska Wesleyan Finishes 2-1 in Estonia

The Nebraska Wesleyan men’s basketball team capped off their trip to Estonia with a 68-59 victory over BC Parnu on Friday (Aug. 19) in Parnu, Estonia. The Prairie Wolves finished the trip with a 2-1 record.

With the game close in the second quarter, Nebraska Wesleyan went on a 29-13 run to pull away for the victory. The Prairie Wolves traditionally strong defense showed against their opponents as they held BC Parnu to just 39% percent shooting.

Three players reached double figures in scoring as a trio of sophomores led the way for the Prairie Wolves. Eric Jackson (Lincoln, Neb.) led the way with 13 points, while Trevor Johnson (Lincoln, Neb.) added 11 points. Jonah Bradley (Norfolk, Neb.) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Nick Dinan (Omaha, Neb.) added nine rebounds.

NWU opened the trip with a 82-58 loss to BC Rakvere Tarvas on Aug. 15, then bounced back with a 88-83 win over Tartu Rock on Aug. 16.  The team will return to Nebraska on Aug. 20 and begin classes on Monday (Aug. 21).

“We showed great improvement throughout the trip and developed a lot of team depth,” coach Cam Schucknecht said. “This trip was very valuable to our team and I hope this success carries over to when we start practice this fall
