Nebraska Wesleyan looked poised to pull an upset and get their fourth straight win as they led by 10 points at halftime over No. 18 Sioux Falls, but the Cougars outscored the Prairie Wolves 18-5 over the last 7:39 of the game to earn the 68-55 win in GPAC men's basketball.

The Prairie Wolves (8-15, 4-12 GPAC) led 32-22 at halftime as they shot 51.9 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes. It was a big run at the end of the first half that allowed NWU to get ahead. With the game tied 20-20, NWU went on a 12-2 run over the final five minutes of the first half.

NWU remained ahead in the second half until the Cougars (19-8, 11-5) finally tied the game with 11:14 left. The two teams traded leads over the next four minutes. Eric Jackson nailed a 3-pointer with 7:39 to play to tie the game at 50-50.

From there, the NWU offense went cold as they did not score again until the 1:18 mark when Andy Schweitzer broke the drought with a 3-pointer. By that time USF had built up a 12-point lead and that was too much for the Prairie Wolves to overcome.

The telling stat of the game was at the free throw stripe where Sioux Falls outscored NWU by 17 points. USF was 22-27 at the free throw line, going 21-24 in the second half. NWU was just 5-8 at the free throw line for the entire game.

Schweitzer was the lone NWU player to score in double figures as he came off the bench to score 13 points, making 3-5 from 3-point range. Trevor Johnson added nine points and seven rebounds.

David Maxwell led Sioux Falls with 21 points, going 9-10 at the free throw line.
