Eligibility Rules

1. Each team captain is responsible for the eligibility of his/her own team members.

2. To be eligible to participate in intramural sports, an individual must fall into one of the following categories:

a) Student enrolled at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
b) Full or part time faculty/staff member.

3. Before each participation in an intramural sport, individuals must sign the score sheet/waiver.

4. An individual may not play on more than one team within a division of a sport.

a) A player listed on two or more rosters will be considered a member of the team s/he plays for first.
b) Any player signed in on the game score sheet will be considered to have played.
c) Once a player has signed in for a team s/he may not change teams.
d) The team which fields a player from another team will forfeit all contests in which that player has participated.

5. Any player who competes in intramural sports under an assumed name will be disqualified in that sport for the rest of the sport season. The Director of Intramural Sports may take further action upon review.

6. Any team fielding a player using an assumed name will forfeit all games in which that individual played. The Director of Intramural Sports may take further action upon review.

7. Members of Varsity Teams

a) No team may have more than two (2) varsity or junior varsity team members, of that sport or corresponding sports, on their roster (team).
b) Due to NCAA rules, no varsity or junior varsity basketball players may play intramural basketball, even out of season.
c) Any person trying out for a varsity sport who quits or is cut from the team after the second contest of the season is considered a member of that varsity or junior varsity team for the remainder of the academic year.

8. For an individual to be eligible for the playoffs, s/he must have played at least once, with the team, (and signed the scorecard/waiver) during the regular season and meet all other eligibility requirements.
