The Nebraska Wesleyan University athletic department has announced that it has agreed to go into partnership with KFOR 1240 AM in Lincoln, Neb., to be the radio home for Prairie Wolves athletics for the 2009-10 season.

The station will carry all 10 Nebraska Wesleyan football games, plus the entire men’s basketball schedule and select NWU women’s basketball games. All games will also be available online at kfor1240.com.
“Nebraska Wesleyan is very excited about renewing our partnership with KFOR,” NWU Athletic Director Ira Zeff said. “The Wesleyan community is looking forward to being able to listen to our games both on the radio and online.”
“The KFOR staff is exciting to bring Nebraska Wesleyan University back to our airwaves,” Joy Patten, VP/General Manager of KFOR commented. “KFOR continues to look for opportunities to bring more local programming to Lincoln. With NWU being such a vital part of this community, we felt it was a win-win situation for everyone.”
Longtime Nebraska broadcaster Dick Janda will serve as the play-by-play announcer for Nebraska Wesleyan football and basketball this season. He will call every Prairie Wolves game, home and away.
“I am very pleased for the opportunity to do Nebraska Wesleyan play-by-play again,” Janda said. “And I am really looking forward to returning to KFOR radio as the voice of Prairie Wolves football and basketball.”
KFOR 1240 carried Nebraska Wesleyan basketball from 1984-2004 and sister station KLMS 1480 AM broadcast NWU football in 2002-03 with Dick Janda calling the action.
