Football Looks For Bounce Back at Concordia

October 22, 2009

The Nebraska Wesleyan University football team hopes for a bounce back this week as they head to Seward, Neb., to face long time conference rival Concordia University in a Great Plains Athletic Conference game. Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Bulldogs is set for 1 p.m., at Bulldog Stadium in Seward, Neb.

The game can be heard live locally on KFOR 1240 AM or online at kfor1240.com with veteran broadcaster Dick Janda calling the action.

NWU (3-3, 3-3 GPAC) had a disappointing 7-3 loss last Saturday in a defensive battle against Hastings College at Abel Stadium. The Prairie Wolves limited the Broncos to just 151 total yards, but could not put the ball in the end zone as they settled for just one field goal and the game ended with the exact same score of the previous season with NWU winning the game, 7-3 in Hastings.

Concordia (2-5, 2-5 GPAC) is coming off a 58-7 loss at #5 Morningside College last Saturday in Sioux City, Iowa. The Bulldogs have been outscored by an average score of 42-7 in their five losses, with three coming to nationally-ranked opponents.
