NWU to Host Hastings in Key GPAC Football Game

The Nebraska Wesleyan football team returns home for the first time in three weeks this Saturday (Oct. 17) when they host #22 Hastings College in a key Great Plains Athletic Conference matchup. Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Broncos is set for 1 pm at Abel Stadium.Both NWU and Hastings College are still fighting to move up the GPAC standings and a spot in the NAIA Playoffs. The Prairie Wolves are 3-2 overall, 3-2 GPAC and Hastings is 5-2, 4-2 in the GPAC, ranked #22 in this week's NAIA Top 25. NWU is coming off a impressive 45-14 win at Dana while Broncos were shutout, 46-0, by 5th-ranked Morningside last Saturday.

This Saturday will also be a special day for the NWU football program as they are honoring the 1989 NWU football team at halftime. The 1989 team won the NIAC Championship and qualified for the 1989 NAIA Playoffs. They defeated Chadron State in the first round of the playoffs and are still the only NWU football team to win a postseason game. All members of the team are invited as well as other NWU football alumni to honor this special season.
