Nebraska Wesleyan Enters NAIA Football Poll at No. 25

The Nebraska Wesleyan University football team entered the NAIA Top 25 when the NAIA Football Top 25 Coaches Poll was released on Monday afternoon (Sept. 14). The Prairie Wolves are ranked 25th in this week’s poll.

NWU was receiving votes in the preseason poll, but cracked the Top 25 after their 38-23 victory over then No. 19 Dakota Wesleyan last Saturday. It marks the first time that NWU has been in the top 25 since the 2008 spring poll. The Prairie Wolves were ranked No. 21 in the final 2007 rating.

This Saturday, the Prairie Wolves will travel to Orange City, Iowa to face Northwestern College who is tied for 22nd in this week’s NAIA poll. It will mark the third straight week that NWU has faced a nationally-ranked opponent.

Kickoff between the No. 22 Red Raiders and the No. 25 Prairie Wolves is set for 1 p.m. at Korver Field in Orange City.
