Head Coach Brian Keller has announced the names of 48 recruits who have said they will attend Nebraska Wesleyan University this fall and plan to participate in football for the Prairie Wolves.
"I am very pleased with the quality of players in this recruiting class,” said Keller who is the winningest coach in NWU history. “Not only are these players accomplished on the field, but they are outstanding student-athletes that really fit the mold of what type of players we are looking for at Nebraska Wesleyan.”
Included in the group are 35 players from Nebraska, 10 players from Colorado, and one each from Iowa, Arizona and Montana. Five recruits were 1st-Team All-State, one 2nd-Team All-State and 13 that received honorable mention All-State.
Last season, NWU ended the year with a 7-3 record posting back-to-back seven win seasons for the first time since 1990-91. The Prairie Wolves ended the year ranked No. 22 in the final NAIA poll.
Nebraska Wesleyan is set to open fall camp on Wednesday, Aug. 13 and the team will open the season on Saturday, Sept. 6 when they host defending NAIA National Runner-up University of Sioux Falls at 6 p.m., in Abel Stadium in Lincoln.
