GPAC Football Media Day Set For Aug. 4

July 30, 2008

The ninth annual Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Football Media Day will be held on Monday, August 4, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the Downtown Cornhusker Marriott Hotel.

Starting at 1:00 pm the GPAC football coaches will address the media with their 2008 outlook, followed by a question and answer period. The event will conclude with the release of the 2008 GPAC Football Preseason Poll.

Nebraska Wesleyan head coach Brian Keller will be the final speaker of the day at the podium. Keller, the all-time winningest coach in NWU history, is entering his 13th season as the head football coach at Nebraska Wesleyan.

The Prairie Wolves are coming off a 2007 season where they finished 7-3 overall and fourth in the GPAC. It marked the first time since the 1990-91 season that NWU had posted back-to-back seven win seasons. They finished the season ranked 21st in the final NAIA poll.

NWU players report to camp on Aug. 13th and open the season on Sept. 6th when they host Sioux Falls at 6 p.m. at Abel Stadium.
