Nebraska Wesleyan University senior punter Ethan Hunke was selected as a First-Team All-American when the 2010 Victory Sports Network NAIA Football All-American team was announced on Jan. 14. The Victory Sports Network NAIA Football All-American team was voted on by NAIA football coaches and the Victory Sports Network broadcast team.

Nebraska Wesleyan University Head Football Coach Brian Keller announced today that Kevin Crume will be the new defensive coordinator for the Prairie Wolves football team.

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior punter Ethan Hunke was named to the 2010 AFCA NAIA Coaches All-America Team that was announced today (Dec. 14) by the American Football Coaches Association.

November 16

The 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Football All-Conference team has been selected after a vote of the league coaches on Sunday (Nov. 14) at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. A total of 14 Nebraska Wesleyan University players received recognition from the GPAC.

Two costly first half turnovers allowed Hastings College to jump out to an early lead that proved to be too much to overcome for Nebraska Wesleyan as the Broncos defeated the Prairie Wolves, 17-14, in the final game of the 2010 season.

November 12

The Nebraska Wesleyan football team will attempt to end the season on a good note as they travel to Hastings, Neb., this Saturday (Nov. 13) to face Hastings College in the 2010 season final. The JV football game scheduled for Monday (Nov. 8) between Nebraska Wesleyan and Midland has been cancelled due to injuries on both squads.

November 6

20th-ranked Midland ran for 271 yards and got a fourth quarter interception with 2:03 to play to seal the 14-6 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan in GPAC football action on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 6) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln. The win was the first for Midland over NWU since 2003, and also marked the first win for the Warriors in Lincoln since 1996.

Three Nebraska Wesleyan University football players have been honored as CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 7 selections. The teams were announced Thursday (Nov. 4) and the NWU honorees were led by sophomore defensive lineman Russell Walton who earned First-Team All-District honors.

Nebraska Wesleyan got its third straight victory of the season and evened their overall record as they defeated arch rival Doane College, 34-14, in GPAC football action on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 30) in Crete, Neb.

Nebraska Wesleyan University sophomore return specialist Cody Eiler is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. He was then named the NAIA National Special Teams Player-of-the-Week.

Cody Eiler returned a punt 49-yards for the game-winning touchdown with just 0:27 seconds left in the game to give Nebraska Wesleyan a 27-20 last minute victory over #25 Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 9) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln.
