Nebraska Wesleyan football players Seth Mruz and Phil Schroer were both selected as 2008 NAIA honorable mention All-Americans by the College Fanz Sports Network when the teams were announced on Jan. 22.

The 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference Football All-Conference team has been selected after a vote of the league coaches on Sunday (Nov. 16) at Dana College in Blair, Neb.

Jordan Stutzman scored two touchdowns to set a new NWU career rushing touchdowns record and Phil Schroer intercepted two passes to set a new GPAC record as Nebraska Wesleyan shutout rival Doane, 23-0, on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 8) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln.

Kory Kahlandt scored a touchdown on a 1-yard run on fourth and goal with 0:03 seconds left in the game as Nebraska Wesleyan rallied for a 19-17 victory over Midland Lutheran on Saturday (Nov. 1) at Fremont, Neb.

The Nebraska Wesleyan defense held Concordia to just 137 yards of total offense and posted their second shut out of the season as the Prairie Wolves blew past the Bulldogs, 44-0, in GPAC football action Saturday afternoon (Oct. 25) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.

Kory Kahlandt scored on a 13-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and that is all Nebraska Wesleyan would need as the defense held Hastings College in check in a 7-3 victory in GPAC football action on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 18) at Lloyd Wilson Field for Hastings' homecoming game in front of 2,000 fans.

Nebraska Wesleyan's defense held Dordt College to just 168 yards of total offense in a 34-0 shutout victory in Great Plains Athletic Conference football action on Saturday (Sept. 27) in Sioux Center, Iowa. NWU picks up its first win of the season and now will carry its momentum into a bye week.

Matt Hagge’s 2-point conversion pass to Ben Iske fell incomplete with 44 seconds remaining in the game and Nebraska Wesleyan fell just short of the upset as 14th-ranked Northwestern College defeated NWU, 17-15, in GPAC football action on Saturday night (Sept. 20) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.

2nd-ranked University of Sioux Falls held Nebraska Wesleyan to just 126 yards of total offense as the Cougars blanked the Prairie Wolves, 35-0, before 1,502 fans in the Great Plains Athletic Conference football season opener on Saturday (Sept. 6) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.

The Nebraska Wesleyan University football team was picked to finish fourth in the 2008 preseason GPAC Coaches' poll that was released on Monday (Aug. 4). The poll was voted on by all 12 coaches at the ninth annual GPAC Media Day which was held at the Cornhusker Marriot in Lincoln. The Prairie Wolves received 91 total points in the poll to finish fourth out of the 12 teams. Defending NAIA National Runner-up University of Sioux Falls was the choice to repeat as GPAC champions.

The ninth annual Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Football Media Day will be held on Monday, August 4, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the Downtown Cornhusker Marriott Hotel.

Nebraska Wesleyan senior defensive back Phil Schroer has been named a NAIA Preseason All-American by The Sporting News magazine in its College football preview. Schroer was one of four players selected as All-American defensive backs.

Head Coach Brian Keller has announced the names of 48 recruits who have said they will attend Nebraska Wesleyan University this fall and plan to participate in football for the Prairie Wolves.

Former Nebraska Wesleyan offensive lineman Brian Bohling was recently selected to be inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame.
