Nebraska Wesleyan University defensive back Phil Schroer has been named to the 2007 Victory Sports Network NAIA Football All-American team that was released on Jan. 21. Schroer received VSN All-American honorable mention recognition this season.

A pair of Nebraska Wesleyan seniors have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA).

Nebraska Wesleyan’s football team rose to 13th in the latest NAIA Rating, released Monday by the national office, setting up a homecoming clash between the No. 13 Prairie Wolves and the No. 1-ranked team this Saturday at Abel Stadium in Lincoln. Their opponent, the University of Sioux Falls, is the defending NAIA Champion. The Cougars remained atop the Top 25 poll for a fifth consecutive week after going 14-0 in 2006.

Head Coach Brian Keller has announced the names of 52 recruits, who have said they will attend Nebraska Wesleyan University this fall and plan to participate in football for the Prairie Wolves.
