Conference rivals will clash on Saturday (Oct. 20) as Nebraska Wesleyan and Concordia will meet on the football field for homecoming. Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Bulldogs is set for 1 pm at Abel Stadium in Lincoln.
Nebraska Wesleyan (2-4, 1-4 GPAC) got back on the right track last Saturday with a 27-7 victory at Dordt College. The Prairie Wolves forced six total turnovers in the game and now have forced 10 turnovers in the last two games.
Concordia is riding high after their 17-16 upset over then #11 Northwestern for the Bulldogs homecoming last Saturday in Seward. The Bulldogs have now won four straight games to improve to 4-3 overall, 3-2 in the GPAC.
Saturday's football game is part of the week long homecoming activities on the NWU campus. A pep rally will be held Thursday night (Oct. 18) at 9:30 in the Taylor Commons area. On Saturday morning, NWU will induct six new members into its athletic hall of fame including two football players, Jeff Lindquist '94 and Brian Bohling '00. Prior to Saturday's football game an Tailgate party will be held from 11 am to Kickoff in Knight Fieldhouse. The tailgate is free to all students, fans and alumni and is sponsored by Ernie's in Ceresco.
