Football Looks To Gain Momentum After Bye Week

October 10, 2012

Nebraska Wesleyan will look to gain momentum heading into the final half of the season as the Prairie Wolves football team comes off its bye week to take on Dordt College this Saturday (Oct. 13) in GPAC football. The kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Defenders is set for 1 pm at Open Space Park in Sioux Center, Iowa.

NWU (1-4, 0-4 GPAC) is aiming for its first conference win of the season after the Prairie Wolves faced three straight ranked opponents to close out the month of September. Their last time out was a heartbreaking 33-27 overtime loss to #15 Northwestern on Sept. 29 at Abel Stadium.

Dordt (0-6, 0-5 GPAC) is also going for their first GPAC win of the season. After struggling in the first four games of the year, the Defenders have shown new signs of life the last two games averaging 30 points in losses to Briar Cliff and Dakota Wesleyan. Last week, Dordt put up 691 yards of total offense at DWU, the most yards any GPAC team has gained this season.
