Zach Hoy Honored as GPAC Player of the Week

Nebraska Wesleyan University junior defensive back Zach Hoy has been named this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week.

Zac HoyHoy (Waverly, Neb.) had a huge game in the Prairie Wolves victory over Dordt College last Saturday. He had two interception returns for touchdowns as the Prairie Wolves defeated Dordt 21-0.

His first pick six went for 28 yards in the first quarter. He gave NWU its second touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter when he returned an interception 68 yards for a score. He also had four total tackles in the game, making just his second career start.

On the season, Hoy has recorded 17 total tackles with a tackle-for-loss. The Prairie Wolves defense has now scored a total of four touchdowns this season.

NWU (1-3, 1-3 GPAC) will travel to Sioux Falls, S.D., this Saturday night (Oct. 2) to face top-ranked University of Sioux Falls.
