Cam Schuknecht
Head Coach

Cam Schuknecht is in his third season as Nebraska Wesleyan’s head coach and fifth season with the program.  He was the assistant coach for the Prairie Wolves for two seasons before taking over as the head coach in the 2006-07 season.

In two seasons as head coach at NWU, Schuknecht has compiled a 22-32 overall record.  Last season he guided the Prairie Wolves to a 14-13 record, the first winning season in three seasons and the most wins since the 2002-03 season.  NWU was 8-19 in his first season as head coach.

Before arriving at NWU, Schuknecht served as the assistant men’s basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. In 2002-03, he was an assistant coach at Wartburg College, where he helped the Knights post a 21-7 record. Schuknecht played at Wartburg from 1993-98 and was a two-year co-captain.

After graduation, Schuknecht was hired as an assistant coach at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kan., from 1999-2001. In 2000-01, St. Mary won the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) regular season championship and finished in the Sweet 16 of the national tournament. In 2001, he was promoted to head coach and guided the Spires to a third-place finish in the KCAC. His team also received votes in the NAIA national poll for eight consecutive weeks.

Schuknecht received his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Wartburg in 1998 and his master’s degree in exercise science from the University of Kansas in 2001.




Jason Baribeau

Jason Baribeau begins his second season as an assistant coach with the Prairie Wolves. Baribeau came to Nebraska via Indiana, where he most recently served as an assistant coach at Hanover College during the 2006-07 season.

Prior to his stop at Hanover, Baribeau coached in New York, where he was the assistant coach at Cayuga Community College from 2004-06 and the associate head coach at Keuka College from 2002-04. While at Cayuga, he helped his team to a Mid-State Athletic Conference Championship in 2004-05 (21-6) as well as a regional semi-final appearance. In his two years there, the Spartans compiled a 37-16 overall record. At Keuka, Baribeau led his team to its first winning record in a decade, and he also coached seven All-Conference players. The Storm also claimed a conference championship during the 2002-03 season.

Baribeau got his coaching start as a student assistant at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. He worked as a student assistant for two years before graduating in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in English. He went on to earn a master’s degree in sports management from California University of Pennsylvania in 2007.

Baribeau currently resides in Gretna with his wife Lisa.

Joel Stoltenow
Assistant Coach

Joel Stoltenow begins his first season as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University.

From 2004-08, Stoltenow was the head boys basketball coach at Lincoln Lutheran High School. In 2008, he led the team to the school’s first ever District Championship and a trip to the Nebraska Class C-1 State Tournament.

Prior to his coaching experience, he was a community relations assistant for the Carolina Panthers in the NFL.  He also was a sports information intern at Davidson College for one season.

Stoltenow earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications/English from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1999.  He received his teacher licensure from Concordia University in 2004 and is currently pursuing his masters in curriculum and instruction at Peru State College. 

Stoltenow also is a Secondary English/Religion teacher at Lincoln Lutheran High School.
