Nebraska Wesleyan University pitcher Cory Hilgenkamp is the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC baseball pitcher-of-the-week for his performance during the week of April 5-11.

He was also named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Baseball Player of the Week for his performance.
Hilgenkamp (Lincoln, Neb.) posted two complete game victories last week as the Prairie Wolves got back to .500 in conference play. For the week he struck out 12 over innings of work while walking just five. His ERA for the week was 3.21.
His best performance was the complete game shutout victory over Concordia where he struck out eight batters and allowed just two hits. He also helped himself at the plate where he batted .381 with a home run, three doubles and seven RBI during the week.
The Lincoln Southwest H.S., graduate now has moved up to second on the NWU career pitching charts with 44 appearances. At the plate he now has 140 career hits to rank ninth all-time, while his 30 career doubles is tied for 10th all-time.
On the season Hilgenkamp is 3-2 on the mound with a 4.06 ERA in five appearances. At the plate he is batting .306 and leads the team with five doubles and 16 RBI.
Nebraska Wesleyan is now 10-9 overall and 6-6 in GPAC play. The Prairie Wolves host Doane College in a 9-inning nonconference game Tuesday at 4 p.m., then return to GPAC play this weekend with a pair of key home doubleheaders. NWU hosts Dordt College on Saturday and Morningside College on Sunday.
