Matt Schommer and Evan Ehmen combined for a 3-hit shutout as Nebraska Wesleyan picked up a 2-0 victory over Concordia University in a nonconference baseball game on Wednesday afternoon (Apr. 11) at NWU Field in Lincoln.
The Prairie Wolves improve to 9-15 overall while the Bulldogs fall to 19-20.
Josh Ostrom got an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning for the Prairie Wolves and that would be the only run that NWU would need as Schommer was in complete control on the mound.
Schommer went 7.0 innings allowing just two hits with three strikeouts and two walks. He improves to 1-1 on the season. Ehmen came in to pitch the final two innings allowing just one hit with two strikeouts to record his first save.
The other run in the game came on Beau Kelly's RBI double in the sixth inning. Kelly was the only NWU player with multiple hits.
