The Prairie Wolves (13-12, 6-6 GPAC) finished the weekend 3-1 to move into a tie for fourth place in the GPAC standings.

Nebraska Wesleyan looked like it was going to win game one of Sunday's twinbill after leading 11-4 heading to the fifth inning. However, the Broncos (12-22, 5-7) scored two runs in the fifth, three in the sixth and then two more in the seventh for the win.

NWU had a chance to regain the lead in the bottom of the seventh after loading the bases with just one out. Pinch-hitter Max Hubka hit into a double play to end the game, and give Hastings the win.

In game two, the Prairie Wolves struck early with three runs in the first including a two-run HR by Rust. Hastings scored two in the third, but NWU came right back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the third to seal the win. Starting pitcher Chris Wahl went the distance allowing seven hits and two earned runs in 6.0 innings of work.

Rust was 3-4 with five RBIs, while Corey Petersen wsa 2-4 with four RBIs and a home run.

Nebraska Wesleyan returns to action on Tuesday (April 8) when they host Doane College in a 9-inning nonconference game at 4:30 p.m.
