Nebraska Wesleyan University had two baseball players named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America® College Division Baseball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Senior first baseman Beau Kelly was a First-Team Academic All-American® and senior catcher Alex Heideman was named to the Academic All-America® Second-Team.

May 8

Nebraska Wesleyan University had nine members of the baseball team on the 2013 Great Plains Athletic Conference Baseball All-Conference team that was announced Wednesday (May 8).  NWU senior Alex Heideman was named the 1st-Team All-GPAC catcher to lead the Prairie Wolves All-Conference selections.

May 7

Four Nebraska Wesleyan University baseball players have been honored as CoSIDA/Academic All-District 6 selections in the NAIA College division.  Seniors Beau Kelly, Alex Heideman, John Kingston, and junior Matt Schommer, were all recognized as Academic All-District.

May 3

Doane scored four unearned runs and their starting pitcher Brandon Stennis allowed only three Nebraska Wesleyan hits as the Prairie Wolves saw their season come to an end with a 4-0 loss to Doane on Friday (May 3) in the GPAC Baseball Tournament at the Smith Complex in Hastings.

May 2

Justin Van Dyke hit his first home run of his career by sending a blast over the 405 sign at Duncan Field to lift Nebraska Wesleyan to a 5-1 win over Mount Marty in the opening game of the GPAC Baseball Tournament on Thursday (May 2).  The Prairie Wolves then dropped a 3-1 decision to Northwestern College in the winner's bracket.

April 29

Nebraska Wesleyan received the No. 5 seed for the 2013 GPAC Postseason Baseball Championships that will be played May 2-4 in Hastings, Neb.  The Prairie Wolves will face No. 4 Mount Marty College on Thursday (May 2) at approximately 1:30 pm at Duncan Field in Hastings.  With the weather the games have been pushed back 2 hours and will be on a rolling schedule.

April 27

Justin Van Dyke got a pinch hit double down the left field line to bring in Chris Johnson in the top of the 8th inning and Nebraska Wesleyan would hold on as the Prairie Wolves defeated rival Doane College, 5-4, in eight innings in game two of a GPAC baseball doubleheader on Saturday (Apr. 27) at Ledon Baseball Complex in Crete.

April 25

Nebraska Wesleyan remained in good position for the GPAC Postseason Baseball Tournament as they split a doubleheader at Hastings College on Thursday night (Apr. 25) at Duncan Field in Hastings.  NWU won game one, 5-2, then came up just short dropping a 3-2 decision in the night cap.

April 21

Nebraska Wesleyan exploded for five runs on seven hits in the bottom of the 5th inning in game two of a GPAC baseball doubleheader as the Prairie Wolves defeated Mount Marty College, 9-2, on Sunday (Apr. 21) at NWU Field in Lincoln.  The Lancers won the first game, 5-2, as the teams split the doubleheader on Senior Day for NWU.

April 20

Nebraska Wesleyan went on the road and dropped a pair of one run games to Morningside College in GPAC baseball action on Saturday (Apr. 20) in Sioux City, Iowa.  The Mustangs won game one, 1-0, then rallied from six runs behind to take the nightcap, 7-6, on a walk off triple.

April 16

Nebraska Wesleyan scored one run in the top of the 9th inning and had the tying run on 3rd base but the Prairie Wolves couldn't get the key hit as Peru State College held on for a 5-4 win over NWU on Tuesday (Apr. 17) in a nonconference baseball game at Centennial Field in Peru, Neb.

April 15

Nebraska Wesleyan pitchers Justin Van Dyke and Sam Busboom threw a combined 16 innings allowing no earned runs to lead the Prairie Wolves to a pair of victories over Dordt College on Monday afternoon (Apr. 15) at NWU Field in Lincoln.  The Prairie Wolves won game one, 2-1, in nine innings then took the nightcap, 8-0.

April 13

Northwestern rallied with five runs in the top of the seventh inning to earn a 8-5 comeback victory and complete a sweep over Nebraska Wesleyan in a GPAC baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 13) at NWU Field in Lincoln.  The Red Raiders shutout NWU, 4-0, in the opening game.

April 11

The GPAC baseball doubleheader between Nebraska Wesleyan and Dordt that was scheduled for Friday (Apr. 12), has been moved to Monday, April 15.  The doubleheader will begin at 1 pm at NWU Field in Lincoln.

Nebraska Wesleyan senior Alex Heideman is this week’s Association of Division III Independents (AD31) baseball Player-of-the-Week.

Dakota Wesleyan took advantage of six Nebraska Wesleyan errors as the Tigers took game one of a GPAC baseball doubleheader, 13-9, on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 6) in Mitchell, S.D.  NWU came back to earn the win in the second game, 4-2.

April 4

Nebraska Wesleyan scored five runs in the second inning, but it was enough as Peru State College scored seven unanswered runs to defeat the Prairie Wolves, 7-5, in baseball action on Thursday (Apr. 4) at NWU Field in Lincoln.

A change of venue didn't hurt the Nebraska Wesleyan baseball team as the Prairie Wolves went on the road to sweep Midland University, 1-0, and 6-4, in GPAC baseball action on Saturday (Mar.

The GPAC baseball doubleheader scheduled for Saturday (3/30) between Nebraska Wesleyan and Midland has been rained out in Lincoln and now will be played in Fremont, Neb.  The doubleheader will start at 4 pm.

Matt Schommer threw a complete game 4-hit shutout to lift Nebraska Wesleyan to a 4-0 win over Concordia in game two of the GPAC baseball opening series on Friday afternoon (Mar. 29) at NWU Field in Lincoln.  Concordia won the opening game, 5-4.
