Four different Nebraska Wesleyan baseball players were named to the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) All-Independent Team that was recently announced. Brady Beckman was on the First-Team, while Zane Cascini, Josh Ostrom and Andy McGowan were named to the Second-Team.

May 13

Three Nebraska Wesleyan University baseball players earned All-Conference honors when the 2010 GPAC Baseball All-Conference teams were released on Thursday (May 13). Sophomore shortstop Josh Ostrom, senior pitcher Zane Cascini and senior outfielder Brady Beckman all were named All-GPAC honorable mention.

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior outfielder Brady Beckman was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District team that was announced on Thursday (May 6).  He was voted to the District 7 Second-Team in the college division.

Doane won a pair of pitching duals, 2-1, in both games as the Tigers swept Nebraska Wesleyan in a GPAC baseball doubleheader in the final regular season games of the 2010 season on Saturday afternoon (May 1) in Crete, Neb.

April 30

Nebraska Wesleyan kept its postseason hopes alive as they swept Dana College, 13-8, 14-5 in Great Plains Athletic Conference baseball action on Senior Day at NWU Field in Lincoln, Neb., on Friday afternoon (Apr. 30).

April 27

DJ Johnson hit three home runs in the doubleheader, while Nebraska Wesleyan managed just 10 total hits and three runs in 10 innings as Midland Lutheran College swept Nebraska Wesleyan, 6-2, 12-1, in a GPAC baseball doubleheader on Tuesday night (Apr. 27) in Fremont, Neb.

April 26

Mike Zoellner threw a one-hit shutout and Northwestern College used a pair of third inning home runs to blank Nebraska Wesleyan, 7-0, in a GPAC baseball game on Monday night (Apr. 26) in Lincoln, Neb. Game two of the doubleheader was called due to rain and can not be made up.

The GPAC baseball doubleheader between Nebraska Wesleyan and Northwestern that was rescheduled for Monday (Apr. 27) in Orange City, Iowa that was cancelled earlier in the day is now back on and will be played here in Lincoln tonight.  The first game will start at 5:30 pm at NWU Field, then the second game will be played at Densmore Park.

April 18

Nebraska Wesleyan managed just nine total hits in two games after collecting 29 in the doubleheader on Saturday against Dordt, as Morningside College came to Lincoln and swept the Prairie Wolves in a Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon (Apr. 18). Morningside won game one, 10-3, then took game two, 8-3.

April 17

After dropping a very disappointing 7-5 decision in the first game of a doubleheader, Nebraska Wesleyan came back with a 11-1 win over Dordt College in a GPAC baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at NWU Field in Lincoln.

April 13

With a strong wind blowing out to left field, Doane College took advantage and blasted four home runs to give them a 17-7 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan in a nonconference baseball game on Tuesday night (Apr. 13) at NWU Field in Lincoln. The game was called after eight innings due to the run rule.

Nebraska Wesleyan University pitcher Cory Hilgenkamp is the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC baseball pitcher-of-the-week for his performance during the week of April 5-11.

April 11

For the first time this year during conference play, the Nebraska Wesleyan baseball team was able to get a doubleheader sweep as they won both games of a twinbill on Sunday (Apr. 11) against Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, S.D. The Prairie Wolves won 13-6 and 10-6. On Saturday, NWU split a doubleheader at Briar Cliff in Sioux City, Iowa.

April 6

Cory Hilgenkamp tossed a complete game two-hit shutout and went 2-3 at the plate with a two-run home run to lead Nebraska Wesleyan to a 6-0 shutout victory over Concordia University on Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 6) at NWU Field in Lincoln. Game two was dominated by Concordia pitcher Steven Ivanoff who held NWU to just four hits as the Bulldogs won 4-1.

April 5

The baseball doubleheader between Nebraska Wesleyan and Concordia that was rescheduled for Monday (Apr. 5) will now be played on Tuesday (Apr. 6) in Lincoln, due to unplayable field conditions in Seward.

April 3

Brady Beckman hit a walk-off two run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Nebraska Wesleyan a 5-3 victory over Hastings College in the first game of a Great Plains Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 3) in Lincoln, Neb. Hastings bounced back to win game two, 12-5.

April 2

The baseball doubleheader between Nebraska Wesleyan University and Concordia University scheduled for April 2 in Seward has been moved back to Monday, April 5. The first pitch between the Prairie Wolves and Bulldogs is now scheduled to start at 3 p.m. in Seward.

March 29

Mount Marty scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to break open a tie game then held off a late Nebraska Wesleyan rally to give the Lancers a 12-10 extra innings victory in a marathon game to begin a GPAC baseball doubleheader on Monday afternoon (Mar. 29) in Lincoln. Mount Marty then used a seven run sixth inning to pull away for a 11-2 victory in the nightcap.

March 28

Zane Cascini threw a complete game allowing only five hits and two runs, while striking out six as Nebraska Wesleyan opened the Great Plains Athletic Conference baseball season with a 4-2 victory over the University of Sioux Falls on Sunday afternoon (Mar. 28) at NWU Field in Lincoln. USF came back to win game two, 10-5.

March 26

Saturday's Great Plains Athletic Conference opening baseball doubleheader between Nebraska Wesleyan and Mount Marty College has been pushed back to Monday (March 29). The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m., at NWU Field in Lincoln.
