Six different Nebraska Wesleyan baseball players were named to the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) All-Independent Team that was recently announced.  Cory Hilgenkamp and Max Hubka were on the First-Team, Zane Cascini, Josh Ostrom and Tyler Stephenson were named to the Second-Team and Corey Petersen was placed on the Third-Team.  In addition, Josh Ostrom was named the Co-Rookie of the Year. 

Jamestown College used a pair of Nebraska Wesleyan errors to overcome a one-run deficit and earn the 7-6 victory in 11 innings in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament on Tuesday morning (May 12) at Lewis & Clark Park in Sioux City, Iowa.

Nine members of the Nebraska Wesleyan University baseball team were named to the 2009 Great Plains Athletic Conference All-Conference Baseball team that was announced Monday (May 4).  Junior starting pitcher Zane Cascini and junior third baseman Cory Hilgenkamp were both on the All-GPAC First-Team. Senior catcher Max Hubka and pitchers Josh Ostrom and Hilgenkamp were both on the second team, while Corey Petersen, Tyler Stephenson, Jeremy Peters, Boo Frields, Chris Wahl and Ostrom received honorable mention.

Corey Petersen went 4-6 with two doubles, a home run and six RBI in a Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader sweep for Nebraska Wesleyan over Northwestern College on Monday afternoon (Apr. 20) in Lincoln, Neb. The Prairie Wolves won game one, 7-3, then used the 10-run rule to defeat the Red Raiders, 13-3 in the second game.

Nebraska Wesleyan University junior pitcher Zane Cascini is this week's Association of Division III Independents baseball Player-of-the-Week after his outstanding pitching performance over the weekend.

Zane Cascini threw a complete game one-hitter to lead Nebraska Wesleyan to a 3-1 victory over Morningside College in game one of a Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader on Friday afternoon (Apr. 10) in Sioux City, Iowa. The Prairie Wolves also took game two of the twinbill, 7-5.

Jeremy Peters hit a grand slam in the first inning to give Nebraska Wesleyan University an early four run lead as they held on for a 10-7 victory in game one of a baseball doubleheader against Simpson College Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 7) at NWU Field in Lincoln. The Storm came back to take game two of the twinbill, 12-4.

Nebraska Wesleyan battled the fierce wind on Saturday to pick up a 9-5 victory over Concordia University in game one of a Great Plains Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader at NWU Field in Lincoln. Concordia bounced back to win game two, 4-2, to split the doubleheader.

Nebraska Wesleyan junior third baseman/pitcher Cory Hilgenkamp had one of the best week’s a player can have, and he is being rewarded for his outstanding week by being named both the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Player-of the-Week for games played March 16-22.
