Williams College (Mass.) took a pair of games from Nebraska Wesleyan on the third day of the Prairie Wolves spring trip at the Greater Phoenix Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz. The Ephs won game one, 6-2, then took the second game, 4-3.
NWU will close out their spring break trip on Wednesday with a game against Elmhurst at 9 am.
The Prairie Wolves led 1-0 heading into the fifth inning of game one before Williams scored two runs to take a 2-1 lead. NWU trailed 3-2 heading into the seventh but the Ephs added three more runs to make the lead too much to overcome.
Beau Kelly and Zach Munford both had two hits with an RBI to lead the Prairie Wolves offense.
Nebraska Wesleyan had two different leads in game two but could not hold on. The Prairie Wolves led 3-1 heading into the fourth, but three runs by Williams in the fourth inning sealed the win.
Munford was the top hitter in game two as well as he had two hits.
The Prairie Wolves are now 4-8 overall.
