Coming off their most successful season in school history, the Nebraska Wesleyan University baseball team is the 2010 favorite in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) baseball coaches’ preseason poll that was released on Tuesday (Jan. 26). NWU received 130 points and six first place votes to land first on the poll. Dakota Wesleyan University got 112 points and three first place votes to finish second in the poll.

Three members of the Nebraska Wesleyan University baseball team were chosen as 2009 Daktronics/NAIA Scholar Athletes. Juniors Brady Beckman, Dan Beckmann and Bryon Janata all received the recognition.

Six different Nebraska Wesleyan baseball players were named to the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) All-Independent Team that was recently announced.  Cory Hilgenkamp and Max Hubka were on the First-Team, Zane Cascini, Josh Ostrom and Tyler Stephenson were named to the Second-Team and Corey Petersen was placed on the Third-Team.  In addition, Josh Ostrom was named the Co-Rookie of the Year.
