Athletic Trainers are recognized allied healthcare providers that work under the supervision of a physician to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients. We provide various services that help to prevent and treat injuries among our athletes and visiting teams.
Our Athletic Training Room is located on the top floor of the Marion and Marian Weary Center, room 247. There will be a Certified Athletic Trainer on duty at all events hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan along with Athletic Training Students from our Athletic Training Education Program. For home football games our Team Physician will also be on site.
The NWU Athletic Training Room will be open 2 hours before start of competition and will remain open approximately 30 minutes after. We would appreciate if you have any special requirements that you make arrangements before your arrival.
The following amenities are available for your use in the Athletic Training Facility:
- Hydrocollator Packs
- Ice
- Electrotherapy
- Ultrasound
- Emergency equipment will also be provided
Your bench will be provided with:
- Towels
- Water
- Cups/Water Bottles
- Ice and Ice Bags
- Towels for showering WILL NOT be provided
We will be more than willing to help your athletes but we ask that if you are not traveling with a Certified Athletic Trainer, that you send a letter from your Certified Athletic Trainer with the names of the athletes and parameters for the modalities. We also ask you send a stocked medical kit so any necessary taping or supplies are available for your team.
Should an injury be severe enough, the athlete can be transported to one of the following medical facilities:
