They’d like to Buy the Campus a Coke

NWU Students Hand Out Coke to PeersTwo Nebraska Wesleyan University students received a few odd looks from their fellow classmates this fall when they opened up a large cooler and handed out free cans of Coke.

Their reason?

“Nobody buys anybody anything anymore,” said junior Jordan Mruz of Fremont who joined senior Nick Myers of Bridgeport in their quest to buy the campus a Coke.

They got the idea from the 1971 advertising jingle, “I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke.” They also considered hot chocolate for the winter months but weren’t sure how to mass produce it. So for now, coolers stuffed with Coke will have to do.
