John B. Greving of St. Paul, Minn., joined NWU as vice president for advancement on March 1. Greving brings a balanced understanding of advancement and independent liberal arts colleges.
He is the previous executive director of the Sister Kenny Foundation, the fundraising arm of a Minneapolis health care organization. He also was chief executive of a St. Paul charter school serving kindergarteners through eighth graders and worked for a dozen years as headmaster for Saint Thomas Academy, a Roman Catholic college preparatory boys’ military academy in St. Paul. His earlier experience includes work as a teacher and assistant principal in public and parochial schools in Wisconsin, North Dakota and Oregon.
Greving holds a master’s degree in educational administration from North Dakota State. He and his wife, Barbara, grew up in Fargo, N.D.
