That Was Close

Shirley (Rexroth) Briggs (’57)
While we spent our freshman year in Johnson Hall we often congregated in Connie Peters’ (Fried) room.

One Saturday night, we were exceptionally loud. There came an authoritative knock on the door from House Mother Betty Eberhart. Girls climbed into the closets and under the beds and tried to become invisible. After the door opened, Connie Peters said, “Let us bow our heads in prayer.”

Miss Eberart said she was sorry for interrupting our devotion.
