After reading your spring cover story (“All in: The Networks that Move the University”), I had to write and say, “Amen!”
Those of us on the university’s admissions staff have worked tremendously hard to maintain enrollment and help keep the university strong through a tough economy. Thank goodness we’ve had outstanding teammates in the professors, staff, students and alumni all around us!

The article’s focus on “teamwork in recruiting” was right on the money. Growing enrollment isn’t just the job of a dozen folks in the admissions office. Everyone with a stake in this community can and should play a part in that effort.
That’s why I’m so glad to see alumni playing an increasing role in recruiting new students to NWU. The prospective students and families I speak with understand that I get paid to say nice things about Nebraska Wesleyan. When prospective students hear alumni recommend NWU and share their experiences as students—it means more than anything I can say to them.
I hope more alumni will take advantage of the good student referral form on the alumni and friends section of the university website, nebrwesleyan.edu and participate in alumni events in the area. Those referrals and events make a real difference in keeping this university strong.
