To help Methodist students meet the rising cost of higher education, congregations across the region have responded through the United Methodist Student Day offering.
“United Methodist Student Day is one of the six church-wide Special Sundays of The United Methodist Church,” The Nebraska Messenger reported. It “furnishes scholarships and loans for students attending United Methodist-related colleges and universities” like Nebraska Wesleyan.
The UMC helps Nebraska Wesleyan provide excellent financial aid to several Methodist students each year. One of those students was Erin Outson (’09). She told The Messenger, “The United Methodist scholarships are important because they give students a chance to explore their faith in college.”
