Nebraska United Methodist Conference Returns to Campus

The Nebraska United Methodist Conference is geared for a special homecoming. For the first time since 2001, the group’s annual conference is returning to the Nebraska Wesleyan campus.

From June 8-12, Nebraska Wesleyan University will play host to several hundred United Methodists from congregations across the state. The Weary Center’s Snyder Arena and the Knight Field House will be the site of most conference activities with worship services nearby at First United Methodist Church. Many attendees will stay in residential facilities on campus as well.

“It is most appropriate that the Annual Conference session is being held on campus again,” said Mel Luetchens, assistant to the president for church relations. “Hosting the session on campus celebrates the commitment of the church to higher education from NWU’s founding to the present day.”

Luetchens added, “Conference members can be proud of the campus they support, but should be even more satisfied with the excellent education and personal development which has sent alumni to contribute to communities at home and abroad for nearly 125 years.”
