Contributing Writer Jessica DansonJessica Danson, “Lecture of a Lightning Rod”

Jessica is a junior religion major, a Harry and Reba Huge scholar and student body president. While at NWU, she has studied in Mexico, Estonia and Germany. She’ll return to Estonia this summer to intern at the U.S. State Department Embassy in Tallinn. Despite the rigor of her studies, she is a believer in boxed-set seasons of TV shows like “Gossip Girl” and online episodes of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”. She bakes a mean cupcake, loves old maps and roots for Germany in the World Cup (with apologies to the U.S. national team).

“All In”

Jesse was born and raised in the hills of rural Virginia. He put aside dreams of becoming a cowboy/frontiersman in 2001 to attend the Rhode Island School of Design. He works as a gun-for-hire in the illustration business and has taken that long, dusty trail out West to Berkeley, Calif. His work has appeared in several publications including Rolling Stone and Runner’s World.
