Student Pride: It's Good!

Zach Egger Received NWU's 106 Academic All-America AwardKicker Zach Egger has heard those two words many times in his football career. The junior from Wood River tied NWU’s single season record with 14 field goals last season. With a year to go, he’s already second in career field goals (26) and ninth in points (134).

Egger puts up impressive statistics in the classroom as well. The exercise science major holds a 3.75 GPA, and was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Egger’s accomplishment represents the university’s 106th Academic All-America Award, and the football program’s 32nd. The football team’s mark ranks 10th among all football-playing schools in the country, regardless of division.
